Small businesses love promotional items. Pens, mugs, calendars, and more are all useful tools, when done right. The Intuit Small Business Blog had an interesting piece last week on how to make better use of promotional items. In a nutshell, they suggest:
- Picking items that gel with your overall brand message.
- Picking items that meet an actual need (for example, choosing a branded quality flashlight over a branded cheap pen).
- Having a way to track the call to action. QR codes are a wonderful way to do this.
- Have an actual objective with the items. Know what you’re trying to accomplish.
