New Ideas for Year-End Bonuses

If you could, you’d give each of your employees a big fat holiday bonus. You can’t always do that, of course. Fortunately, the Intuit Small Business Blog offered some advice last week on some types of bonuses that will demonstrate employee appreciation this holiday season:

  • Longevity bonuses. Today’s workers tend to switch jobs fast, so consider offering larger bonuses for workers who are willing to stay with the company longer.
  • Non-performance bonuses. These are the bonuses you give to everyone, and might take the form of a percentage of their salary, a set amount for everyone, or even restaurant gift cards.
  • Performance bonuses. Many companies are giving employees specific goals, and if they’re met at the end of the year the employee gets a set bonus.
