Putting Your Business on Auto-Pilot

Starting a small business means putting in long hours of hard work. The goal of many small businesses, however, is to get to the point where you can work less and make more by turning that business into a well-oiled machine. The Intuit Small Business Blog has some advice on how to do just that.

In a nutshell, here’s the advice they offer:

  • Outsource anything that isn’t related to your core competencies.
  • Develop an accountability system.
  • Automate tasks whenever you can.
  • Train your people well.

Do these things and you’ll be well on your way to having a tight ship that sails well with or without you.
